Home Depot is hosting a “Fall Makeover” contest, whereby you can submit pictures of one room in your house, and submit a short story of explaining why $10,000 would assist you in renovating the room. Our family (the Bosserts) from Fort Saskatchewan have submitted an entry to the contest. Should you decide to vote, look for the story near the bottom of the opening page called “Surprise Baby Postpones Renos” – dated September 23, 2009. As of noon on October 8th, we are in second place (which is why our posting is on the first page! There are 360 entrants from across Canada.
The contest is set up very similar to “Canadian Idol” whereby the general public votes to determine a winner. In this case, the public votes to determine a top 5, and then a host of judges from Home Depot take over.
From October 5, 2009 until the end of the contest (October 28), voters can go to the contest website and first register an email address where instructed. When you click on “submit” you will receive an email to authenticate yourself by clicking on a link to come back and vote.
There is a limit of one vote per day, per voter, per email address. By registering as a voter, you also have an opportunity to win a $100 gift card from Home Depot.
